Mosaic Icon of the Mother of God Church "Joy and consolation" to Khodynskoe field. Moscow. 2008 April 5, 1909 in Moscow, was solemnly consecrated the Cathedral, the Russian folk sorrow at Khodynskoe box, built to perpetuate the memory of Grand Duke Sergei Alexandrovich, and all the victims of revolutionary terror and sanctified in the name of Vatopedskoy icon of the Mother of God, called "Joy and consolation." The temple was built on the initiative and the means of the monarchist party movement entrepreneur IA Kolesnikova, who thus wanted to thank the soldiers who defended Moscow in December 1905 (in his "joy" and "comfort"), and pay homage to all the king's servants who have fallen victims of terror, in particular the Moscow governor-general of the Grand Duke Sergei Alexandrovich. It was expected that parishioners would be stationed next to the 1 st Cossacks of the Don Cossack Generalissimo Suvorov Regiment soldiers and 1 st Earl Bruce Grenadier Artillery Brigade.

Bookmark temple was held April 29, 1907, the birthday of Grand Duke Sergei Alexandrovich, a ceremony attended by delegates from 4-th Congress of the monarchy, which was held these days in Moscow. The temple was built in the Byzantine style by the architect B. D. Adamovich, in appearance reminded of the Twelve Apostles Church in Thessalonica. The main attraction of the temple were the plaques made of white marble with the names of officers slain in a sedition 1904-07. They were located on the inner walls of the church, and above them in large letters was written "Large spreading love niktozhe imat, but who lay down his life after another, its own". This sad synodic opened the name of Grand Duke Sergei Alexandrovich, for the commemoration were inscribed the names of the king's servants, who died at the hands of terrorists: 52 officers and 258 soldiers, 6 officers and 79 Cossacks Cossacks 2 admirals, 27 naval officers and sailors, 6, and 1413 civilians and police officers, including 40 higher officials.
